According to hubby Jay-Z, Beyonce Knowles loves her work. And, like her husband, everything she puts her name on seems to turn to platinum. Besides selling millions upon millions of albums and launching an ultra successful clothing line with her mother, she’s doing pretty well in the box office these days.

The critically acclaimed ‘Dream Girls’ in which the diva stared long side Eddie Murphy and Jamie Foxx pulled in over $100m in the box office and garnered numerous award nominations. The film did so well that she’s decided Executive Produce her next film, ‘Obsessed’.

Beyonce will headline the film as Beth, the wife of a business man Derek Charles (Idris Elba of Daddy’s Little Girls and The Wire) who is being stalked by Lisa (Ali Larter of Resident Evil: Extinction (2007)), a temp worker at his firm…. who just happens to be white. The film is backed by Screen Gems, is slated for a 2009 release.

I don’t know how good the film will be. Judging the by some of the production photos I’ve seen, I’m not sure the chemistry between her and Elba will work out well. But despite that, I will say that Beyonce is quickly becoming the center piece of one of the most powerful families in entertainment. She’s sticking with the formula continuously working with her talented family members. Matthew Knowles, her father is the other executive producer on the project.

We’ll have a trailer up as soon as it’s available.
