Mr. Chris Bridges aka Ludacris, who is a multi-platinum southern rap icon continues to attach himself to box office hits. He only has 9 acting roles associated with feature films on his resume. That's not bad for a rapper crossing over to the big screen. And of those films one was 'Crash' which won 3 Academy Awards. Another was 'Hustle & Flow' which also won an Academy award as well as two trophies from the Sundance Film Festival. Throw in a couple of money makers like '2 Fast 2 Furious' and 'Fred Clause' and I think it's safe to say his film career had been more than respectable.
This October Luda will continue to hurt the box office teaming up with Mark Wahlberg in 'Max Payne'. The film is another video game conversion destined to be a big screen hit. The southern super star will play a tough cop (Jim Bravura) who hounds the vengeance seeking Max Payne played by Wahlberg.
Luda recently told MTV News that there will be pretty intense integration scene in the movie remanicant of the face-off between the Joker and Batman in the Dark Knight. Here’s what he told MTV.
"I'm the internal affairs investigator, Jim Bravura, and I’m just hounding Max Payne. Crazy thing about that is, whenever you see Mark Wahlberg, he's usually playing those dominant characters, so this is the time I'm the one who's dominant," Ludacris said of his favorite scene in the upcoming video-game-to-movie adaptation. "I get to hound him. Trust me, it's the best scene in the movie when I’m hounding the hell out of Mark Wahlberg because I'm the boss."
The flick is set for an October 17th, 2008 (wide) thru 20th Century Fox. Other notable cast members include Mila Kunis (That '70s Show) and Beau Bridges.
